Last season, Alabama struck gold in 4-star recruit Noah Clowney, who blossomed into one of the best freshmen in the country, helping lead the Tide to an SEC double-crown and a Sweet Sixteen appearance.

After averaging a near double-double in his lone season at the Capstone, Clowney has officially moved onto the NBA. Clowney taking the next step in his career, coupled with the graduation of veteran Noah Gurley leaves a gaping hole at the power forward position.

While Alabama is sifting through the remaining transfers for Clowney's replacement, the guy may already be in the building.

Sam Walters, the 55th-ranked recruit in 247Sports Composite Rankings, fits the role Clowney was asked to do last season, possessing the same length, fluidity, and ability to stretch the floor as Clowney.

Similar to Clowney out of high school, Walters will need to add some weight and refinement to his game. However, Walters should be in good hands with Nate Oats, who has shown a knack for developing wings into NBA talents during his tenure at Alabama.

With an eerie similarity in playstyle and ranking, Walters will remind fans of Clowney's breakout last season.

Alabama is still pursuing another power forward in the transfer portal, as they recently contacted North Dakota State's Grant Nelson. But keep an eye out for Walters, who could make a big impression on the coaching staff day one.
