You can join the fight against the nation's No. 1 and No. 5 killers - heart disease and stroke at the 2024 Tuscaloosa Heart Walk on March 2 at Tuscaloosa’s Government Plaza. Check-in begins at 8 a.m., and the walk starts at 9 a.m.

The 2024 Theme is “I Walk to Save Lives,” which reflects the Association’s commitment to making a difference in the fight against heart disease and stroke. “I am excited to see our community come together for this event. My immediate family members suffered from heart-related problems, and this is why I am so passionate and determined to make a difference not only for my family and friends but our community,” said Edgar Sherwood, 2024 Heart Walk Chairman and executive vice president at CB&S Bank. “The Heart Walk is more than just a walk. It’s a celebration of the efforts we’ve made over the past year in West Alabama, and a commitment to do even more. We walk to save lives.”

According to the press release, “Thousands of walkers will be stepping out this year to have fun, get inspired, and support a meaningful cause. The event will feature a non-competitive, three-mile walk and a survivor’s pathway.”
