Yea, Alabama reported that Latham suffered a neck injury in practice, and he was taken to the hospital. In a statement released late Tuesday night, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer said that Latham had "full feeling and motion but would undergo a thorough medical assessment to determine next steps in his recovery process."

During Wednesday's SEC coaches teleconference, DeBoer provided an update on Latham's injury, saying the sixth-year linebacker was still at UAB hospital this morning.

"He is at UAB," DeBoer said. "Just continue being evaluated. We'll probably know more here in the next 48 hours, but most importantly, he's got motion, feeling. Just texted with him this morning, and he told me to tell the guys he's doing well. Just more tests, more things we gotta evaluate."

Latham is in his sixth season with the Crimson Tide, signing as a member of the 2020 recruiting class. In his Alabama career, he's totaled 43 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and one pass breakup.

Behind him, Alabama will rely on more reps from Qua Russaw and Yhonzae Pierre to fill the absence of the veteran on defense.
