Coming off of a bye week with some rest and much preparation, Wommack expressed that the team made significant progress. They took the opportunity to self-asses their strengths and weakness leading to a productive evaluation. He noted that younger players have shown improvement, honing their fundamentals and execution.

With the Bulldogs as this week's opponent, Wommack acknowledged their impressive track record in recent years. He pointed out that Kirby Smart and his coaching staff have been together for nearly a decade, while the Tides staff is relatively new, making the challenges of facing a well-established team even greater.

Mike Bobo- the Bulldogs offensive coordinator, has crafted a highly efficient offense known for its aggressive play. Central to his success is quarterback Carson Beck, whose accuracy and decision- making skills, coupled with a solid offensive line that has kept him well protected, have allowed ample time in the pocket this season. Wommack emphasized the importance of pressuring Beck, stating,  "We certainly have to be mindful of making him uncomfortable, but we wanna make sure that we are not sacrificing things from a coverage perspective in that process."

He also praised the Bulldogs for their ability to "Give a lot of window dressing and eye candy, displaying many formation shifts that could trick a defense. This highlights the necessity of being fundamentally sound in alignment and execution, while also having the capability to generate negative plays and turnovers."

A significant advantage for the Tide is the presence of seasoned players like Malachi Moore, Deontae Lawson, and Jihaad Campbell, who will play a crucial role in Wommack's defensive scheme. "You can definitely count on the experience these veterans bring. We have many younger players on our defense who lack that experience, but they can learn and build confidence from the veterans," Wommack remarked.

Before the bye week, the Tide defense managed to secure 13 crucial takeaways in their victory over Wisconsin. As they prepare to face the Bulldogs, Wommack emphasizes that their focus remains on creating takeaway opportunities, and believes that if the defense continues to perform well, it will ultimately lead to a victory over the Bulldogs.
