Mark Sears is Making an Early Impact For the Tide
Alabama basketball's season is underway and the Tide are off to a hot start. Freshmen Brandon Miller, Jaden Bradley, and Rylan Griffin have made big contributions so far for Alabama.
Transfer Mark Sears is also showing out and proving where he was one of the top transfers in the portal this offseason.
Sears is coming off a huge game Friday night against Liberty in which he scored 22 points, eight rebounds, and four assists on 8-of-11 shooting and 3-of-5 from behind the arc.
The Muscle Shoals native is averaging 17 points through two games on the season and finding is finding the perfect role on the team.
"We play really well off each other when you're playing with guys like Brandon, Nimari and JB (Jaden Bradley) it makes the game so much easier for you," Sears said after the game.
The Ohio transfer struggled to be efficient in the Crimson Tide's season opener against the Longwood Lancers despite finishing the game with a double-double with 12 points, ten boards, and five assists.
Alabama is currently ranked No. 20 in the AP Poll. The new rankings come out on Monday.
Sears and The Crimson Tide are set to face off against the South Alabama Jaguars for its first road game of the season at the Mitchell Center in Mobile, Ala., on Tuesday at 9 p.m. CT. Coverage will be on Tide 100.9 and 95.3 The Bear.
