Montverde Academy Guard Shows Interest in Bama
Alabama men’s basketball and Montverde Academy combo guard Chris Johnson have shown some mutual interest recently.
Johnson is a 6-foot-5 guard from Missouri City, Texas but plays for the nationally acclaimed Montverde Academy which is known for sending players to the NBA. Some of the players that have played for them recently are Ben Simmons, RJ Barrett, and Cade Cunningham.
He is the 28th-ranked player in the nation and a four-star recruit for the 2023 class, according to 247 sports. Johnson has received offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, UConn and several other power five schools.
So far, Johnson has not had an official visit to Tuscaloosa, but recently he came out to say that he admires Nate Oats' program and will be taking an official visit when his schedule starts to clear up.
Since he plays for Montverde, Johnson is used to playing at the highest level of high school competition. He would be a great player to really push to target for the 2023 class.
