Saban Impressed With Offensive Weapons
Alabama football coach Nick Saban spoke to the media Wednesday morning in his weekly teleconference.
During the meeting, Saban discussed his pleasure with the wide receiver group and how they performed in the season opener.
"I was really pleased with the way that group in total, guys returning as well as newcomers. performed in the game," said Saban.
The seven-time national champion mentioned three names that stuck out to him versus Utah State, Kobe Prentice, Isaiah Bond, and Jermaine Burton.
Prentice, the freshman out of Calera, Ala., recorded five receptions for 60 yards against the Aggies. He was named as one of the starting wide receivers on the official Alabama depth chart last week.
Bond, a freshman out of Buford, Ga., saw time in the matchup on Saturday night, catching two receptions for 23 yards.
Burton, a transfer from Georgia, had five receptions for 35 yards and two touchdowns in his Alabama debut.
