Travis Reier Discusses the Jim McElwain Firing at Florida

After three season and two SEC East championships, the Florida Gators decided to part ways with their head coach Jim McElwain.

The former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Crimson Tide under Nick Saban was let go after a tough loss in Jacksonville where they were defeated by the Georgia Bulldogs 42-7.

Travis Reier, of BamaOnLine.com and host of Southern Fried Sports, joined The Game with Ryan Fowler to discuss McElwain's career at Florida, where the Gators go from here, and where could McElwain land next in college football.

McElwain had a 22-12 record in his three season as head coach and 16-8 in the SEC with back-to-back SEC Championship appearances. As for the Gators, co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Randy Shannon will take over as interim head coach. Shannon last head coaching position was with the Miami Hurricanes from 2007-10 where he finished 28-22.
