Ty Lockwood has signed his National Letter of Intent to play football for Alabama in 2023. Lockwood was originally committed to Ohio State before flipping to Alabama.

According to On3 Recruiting, the 6-foot-5 prospect is the 13th-ranked tight end and the 5th-ranked prospect in Tennessee. He joins a stacked recruiting class that includes Caleb Downs, Keon Keely, Justice Haynes, and just committed Kadyn Proctor, giving Alabama the No. 1 ranked class in the country according to On3 Recruiting and 247 Sports.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end from Thompson's Station, Tennessee, concluded his high school career with 92 catches for 1156 yards and five touchdowns. As a junior, he had 42 receptions for 462 yards and two touchdowns.

Lockwood has size, projects as an effective blocker at the next level, has excellent hands, and figures to be a consistent target for the Alabama offense for many years to come. Because of the large catch radius, defensive players find it tough to guard a big-body receiving target. According to On3 recruiting, Ty Lockwood has a great catch radius and can collect a lot of passes very near the ground.
