Alabama redshirt freshman forward Alex Tchikou has entered the transfer portal according to Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports. Tchikou appeared in three games, playing a total of six minutes during the 2021-22 season for the Crimson Tide.

In three appearances during non-conference play, Tchikou pulled in four rebounds and had one turnover. The 6-foot-11 forward had not seen action since November 28, 2021.

Tchikou, unfortunately had to redshirt during the 2020-21 due to a ruptured Achilles tendon. 

The former 4-star recruit out of Dream City Christian in Glendale, Arizona by way of Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada.

The 6-foot-11 PF started his playing days playing for Centre Fédéral de Basket-ball, a French basketball club, based in Paris. He reclassified into the 2020 class and joined Alabama over offers from Oregon, Arizona, Saint Mary’s, St. John’s, USC, Florida State and Illinois.

Tchikou was suspended to begin the 2021 season due to a violation of team rules. He will now opt for the transfer portal and becomes the first player to depart Alabama's roster this offseason.
