Alabama Lands Seven-Foot Commitment
Tuscaloosa, Ala. - The Tide picks up its first basketball commitment in the transfer portal, and it is (literally) a big one.

According to Joe Tipton of On3 Sports, Alabama has landed a commitment from seven-foot, 250-pound Bucknell transfer Noah WIlliamson.
Williamson was on a visit to Alabama over the weekend, meeting Oats and the Crimson Tide's coaching staff as the team departed the plane after returning from Newark, New Jersey, in the NCAA tournament.
Williamson, a seven-foot, 250-pound transfer center from Bucknell, averaged 17.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game for the Bison in the 2024-2025 college basketball season.
He shot 53.8 percent from the floor, but the big man can be a sharpshooter on the three-point line too, shooting 31.8 percent from three as a junior.
Williamson won't be the only big man on the roster. Freshman Aiden Sherrell told reporters after Alabama's loss to Duke that he plans to return to Alabama next season.
As a true freshman, Sherrell, a 6-foot-10, 240-pound forward, averaged 3.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game for the Tide. He only averaged 8.8 minutes per game but shot 51.1 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from three-point range for the Tide as a freshman.
Williamson is the first commitment for the Crimson Tide in the transfer portal, but will almost certainly not be the last.
