Alabama Takes Season Series Against Missouri on Friday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama secured its season series against Missouri with a 7-3 victory in the second game of the series on Friday. The Tide's starting pitcher delivered an outstanding performance, and two upperclassmen hit significant home runs to contribute to the win.

Alabama's starting pitcher, Riley Quick, had a fantastic outing. The right-handed pitcher got started early with two strikeouts in just the first inning. Quick went on to pitch 5.2 innings for the Tide, recording a career high seven strikeouts in Friday's win and only allowing one earned run during his time on the mound.
The top of the second inning saw a stoppage in play after Missouri's left fielder, Brock Daniels, went up to the plate, with Daniels not being included on the Tigers' 30-man roster before the game, so this resulted in an automatic out with Daniels being out for the remainder of the game. Alabama went on to retire the inning, forcing Missouri to leave a runner stranded on third base.
This was a quiet game until the bottom of the third inning when Alabama's left fielder went yard for the eighth time this season this time giving the Tide two-runs to give them the first run of the game, and a two run lead, unfortunately this was all the points the Crimson Tide came away with in the bottom of the third despite the Tide having bases loaded with two outs, but a Coleman Mizell strikeout retired the inning leaving Alabama with three runner stranded, but not before the Tide made it a 2-0 ball game.
In the bottom of the fifth inning Alabama added four-runs thanks to good hitting from the Tide's lineup with Bonomolo jr. starting the side of with a single through center field, following him Neal, and Garret Staton also singled to set the Tide up with loaded bases following this Hodo was hit by a pitch from Missouri's Kaden Jacobi which advanced Bonomolo Jr. home from third base.
This wasn't all with Alabama's designated hitter Coleman Mizell ripping a double out to right field to drive home Staton, and Neal to give Alabama a five-run advantage, following Mizell's RBI. Alabama's right fielder Bryce Fowler drove home Hodo on a groundout to shortstop. This put the Tide up by six runs heading into the sixth inning.
Missouri finally found some rhythm on offense in the top of the sixth inning when Quick's day came to an end, and Austin Morris came in from the bullpen to relieve Quick, who had a phenomenal day. Once Morris got on the mound, the Tigers were able to string two runs thanks to an RBI triple from Chris Patterson and an RBI single from Pierre Seals to cut the Tide's lead down to four runs heading into the bottom of the sixth.
Alabama had an opportunity to add some runs in the bottom of the sixth inning with Alabama having Neal on third base and Staton on second, but the Tide were unable to capitalize with Missouri retiring Hodo on a strikeout to conclude the inning.
The seventh inning saw both teams add one run with Missouri's Kaden Peer hitting a sacrifice fly bringing home Gehrig Goldbeck to make it a 6-3 game going into the bottom of the seventh, unfortunately for the Tigers Alabama's third baseman Jason Torres went yard for the ninth time of the season with this one being a solo shot over left field to put the Tide ahead by four-runs going into the eighth inning.
Alabama went on to close this game out with Carson Ozmer staying in the bullpen for this one while Braylon Myers stayed out there to close the game with the right handed pitcher finishing Friday's game with strikeouts throughout three innings pitched with two of those coming in the final inning which helped give the Tide their 33rd win of the season.
