Just a few days removed from the Los Angeles Rams defeating the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, former Alabama player and Rams long snapper, Carson Tinker, joined The Game with Ryan Fowler to talk about his 2021-22 NFL season journey to winning a Super Bowl ring.

Tinker began his tumultuous 2021-22 season with the New York Giants, a team whose practice squad he was with the previous season as well because of the COVID-19 pandemic allowing for teams to expand their practice squads from 10 to 16 players. After training camp, he was released by the Giants.

"They decided to go with the guy that they had last year just for the chemistry," Tinker said. "Totally understand that, no problem with that. Loved my time with the Giants."

It only took about two weeks for Tinker to get signed again, this time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to their usual snapper tearing a ligament in his left ring finger that required surgery.

With the Buccaneers, Tinker played in his first football game since week five of 2018, due to him tearing his meniscus and having to sit out the rest of that season, not making a team in 2019, and only making the Giants practice squad in 2020.

"That was awesome, got to play with Tom Brady. Got to help Tom Brady beat the Patriots," Tinker said when describing his time with Tampa Bay. "That's something that I've carried with me forever."

Tinker's time with Tampa Bay lasted about two months, before their regular snapper got healthy and he was released, though he was far from disappointed with his time with the team. "I put some really good tape out there, I was really happy with how I played in Tampa." Tinker must have not been the only one who thought this as he was called just a week later to join the Las Vegas Raiders, whose snapper got COVID.

His experience with the Raiders only lasted one game until their regular snapper came back from the Reserve/COVID list, though just like his Buccaneers' experience, Tinker believes his time with Las Vegas was well worth it. "I had one of the best games of my whole career with the Raiders, so I'm super happy about that."

The Rams called Tinker during week 15 of the season and signed him to their practice squad. "They said hey we want to bring you in on practice squad in case our snapper gets COVID," Tinker said. "We want to have you in the building familiar with the system. We want to have you this week, and then we want to have you for the rest of the season and through the playoffs on practice squad as a just in case."

Tinker didn't mind the arrangement of being on the Rams practice squad as he wanted to win a Super Bowl. "I said I want to get a Super Bowl ring man. I am totally down to be the backup guy, whatever it is on practice squad, I want to be a great teammate," Tinker said.

Tinker's goal of being viewed by his teammates as a great teammate also came true, as Johnny Hekker, the Rams starting punter, called him a "great teammate" when they were saying their goodbyes on Tuesday. "He gave me one of the best compliments I ever had as a football player," Tinker said. "I feel like above all, that's what I pride myself in is being the best teammate I can be."

Tinker continued to sum up his journey to winning the Super Bowl, saying, "We made a run and we won the Super Bowl. So praise God, it has been a crazy year."

Holding the Lombardi Trophy should be a somewhat familiar feeling for Tinker as he played at Alabama from 2009-12, winning three championship trophies with the team (2009, 2011, 2012), in which he was the starting long snapper for the latter two.
