Alabama football is always evolving. From Bear Bryant embracing the wishbone which led to three more national titles to Nick Saban going to the spread offense yielding his most recent two national championships. The Alabama program is once again evolving by embracing a scientific approach to athletic training and recovery.

Alabama has recently unveiled photos of what the interior of the new Sports Science Center will look like. The facility will be one of the most advanced facilities of its kind, keeping Alabama on the forefront of college facilities in the country.

Alabama has one of the top athletic trainers in Jeff Allen and the new facility will allow him to care and rehab the athletes in the most modern way possible. The Crimson Tide recently hired David Ballou and Dr. Matt Rhea to replace Scott Cochran as head of strength and conditioning, Rhea will use the facility to continue his study on speed and recovery training. Ballou and Rhea were instrumental in the improvement of the University of Indiana’s football program and increased the speed of the Hoosiers players by an average of three miles per hour. The facility will allow the three staff members to maximize the care given to the Crimson Tide athletes.
