The Alabama Crimson Tide will finalize its 2024-2025 regular season by heading down to Neville Arena to take on the top-ranked Auburn Tigers. According to ESPN's Joe Lunardi, a win on Saturday could re-open the door for a one-seed conversation around the Crimson Tide men's basketball team.

Alabama will have to do it shorthanded once again, as head coach Nate Oats revealed that freshman forward Derrion Reid will miss Alabama's final regular season game against Auburn.

It will be Reid's sixth straight game missed after re-aggravating a lower-body injury in Alabama's loss to Auburn on February 15. It will be the 13th game that Reid has missed for Alabama basketball this season.

On Tuesday, before Alabama's final home game against Florida, Oats said Reid had returned to basketball activity but would be evaluated on a "week-to-week" basis.

Reid is averaging 7.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game for Alabama in 18 games so far this season. He is shooting 43.6 percent from the field and 25.7 percent from three-point range, adding another 56.6 percent from the free throw line.

Reid has started three games for Alabama this season. His top performance came against Creighton, scoring 12 points in 21 minutes of play.

Oats provided another update on Reid's timeline ahead of the SEC tournament next week.

"Derrion would be the only one who would be out. He's still getting back into some basketball workouts. Hopefully he'll start live practices and we'll see where that takes us. We could certainly use him for the SEC Tournament," Oats said.

In addition to Reid, Houston Mallette and Latrell Wrightsell Jr. will be listed as out after suffering season-ending injuries earlier in the year.
