While talking on the JAKIB sports podcast SportsTakeLive, NFL reporter Derrick Gunn was asked how Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Jaen Hurts was doing in practice.

Gunn replied "One person said let me give you a scenario of what he went through in one day of practice. It was a ten-play scenario. He had three picks, four incompletions, and three sacks."

The former Crimson Tide and Oklahoma Sooners quarterback was drafted in the second round by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2020 NFL Draft. After sitting behind Carson Wentz in his rookie season, Hurts finally got his chance to start last year for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Last year for the Eagles, Hurts threw for 3,144 yards,16 touchdowns, and nine interceptions with a 61 percent completion percentage. Hurts also led the Eagles to the No. 1 rushing offense in the league with an additional 734 yards and ten touchdowns on the ground. Last season, the Eagles finished 9-8 and snuck into the Wild Card round before losing to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a score of 31-15.

Many Eagles fans believe that this is a make-or-break year for Jalen Hurts because of the stacked quarterback draft class in the 2023 draft.  Philadelphia currently has two picks in the first round of 2023 (the Eagles pick and the New Orleans Saints pick). So if Jalen Hurts does not take a step forward this year then the Eagles could use its first two picks and move up to select a QB like CJ Stroud or Bryce Young.

Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown thought the report by Gunn is completely false and Hurts has been amazing on and off the field.

The All-Pro wide receiver was added by the Philadelphia Eagles through a trade with the Tennessee Titans. After giving up the 18th overall pick and signing him to a 4-year $100 million deal, the Eagles hope for AJ Brown to be the missing piece of the Eagles offense.

Only time will tell if Jalen Hurts is the long term quarterback in Philadelphia, but he has all the tools and resources to have a breakout year and maybe even bring a NFC East division title back to "The City of Brotherly Love".
