Nate Oats Provides Injury Update
Nate Oats spoke to the media ahead of ALabama's senior day and regular-season finale at home against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, March 9.
The Tide have dropped two straight games in SEC play for the first time since 2022, but they have the chance to get back on track against Arkansas before heading to Nashville for the SEC tournament.
Rylan Griffen left Wednesday's loss to Florida early with a calf injury, unable to put any weight on his leg. What is his expectation to play on Saturday?
"The MRI results were a lot better than they feared it might be," Oats said. "He's on a day-to-day basis right now...I'm not sure exactly when he'll be back."
It doesn't sound likely that Griffen will be suiting up for the Tide's final regular season game. With a week until Alabama plays in the SEC tournament, Griffen has a chance to get extra rest and rehab and potentially play on Alabama's first day.
Crimson Tide fans were concerned about Latrell Wrightsell only playing eight minutes against Florida, but Oats didn't seem concerned about Wrightsell's availability, "As far as I can tell, he's at a full green light."
With the regular season wrapping up, and senior day being Saturday, Oats was asked about eligibility and who will be honored on Saturday, "We're going to save all that for after the year."
"We're going to honor all six of our seniors...We decided to honor all of them. The only one that's exhausted all their eligibility is Estrada," Oats said. "We didn't want to put guys in decisions whether to honor them or not."
