Perception May Not Be Reality With Lacey Transfer
Alabama's basketball program has been shaken in the past month.
The program that looked to be one of the rise with another talented recruiting class coming into Coleman Coliseum and a talented group of upperclassmen rising through the ranks, suddenly does not look as strong as it did a month ago.
April started with Mousa Gueye's decision to depart and finished with Trevor Lacey's announcement to leave as well. Both decision's caught plenty by surprise, but it was Lacey's decision that got plenty of people's attention.Lacey was arguably one of Anthony Grants biggest signings, coming from Butler High School in Huntsville, Ala. The two-time Mr. Basketball in the state of Alabama during his high school tenure was supposed to be one of the key cogs in Alabama's rebuilding process.
Instead, Alabama's second leading scorer and the only player to start in all 36 games elected to leave after two seasons.
Monday night Travis Reier from Bama Online joined The Game and was quick to point out that while the move has hurt the Crimson Tide basketball program, transfers were becoming the new norm in college basketball.
