REPORT: Tuscaloosa County Hires New Head Football Coach
Tuscaloosa, Ala. - The wait is over for the Tuscaloosa County Wildcats, as the school has made a hire for the vacant head coaching position.

According to Anna Snyder of the Tuscaloosa News, Tuscaloosa County will hire Chris Bell to be the head coach. Bell recently resigned from being the head coach at Robertsdale High School in Baldwin County on Monday.
Bell will be the 27th head football coach in program history and the fourth head football coach in the past three seasons. He replaces Brian Niedermeyer, who held the role for three months before resigning to take a position with the NFL's Denver Broncos.
Niedermeyer took over for Miles Holcomb, who resigned in November following a 1-9 season in 2024 and a 0-7 record in 7A Region 3 play.
Bell most recently was the head coach at Robertsdale High School, where he spent one season before resigning on March 31 after a 2-8 record in 2024. Bell has an overall record of 67-72 across 13 years as a head coach in Alabama and has six playoff appearances.
