After one of the best seasons in Alabama men's basketball history, senior Herb Jones has announced he will enter into the upcoming NBA Draft. Jones joins fellow senior John Petty in the NBA Draft pool, due to the pandemic seniors had the option to return to universities for an additional year.

Coach Oats has had great success in recruiting thus far and this will need to continue this offseason in order for Alabama to continue to be successful.

The Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team concluded its season with an 88-78 overtime loss to No. 11 UCLA in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament last night. For the Alabama Crimson Tide the Sweet 16 was the furthest the program had been since 2004.

For three Alabama seniors however, this loss signaled something more than an end of a season- it signaled the end of a proud crimson career.

Alabama senior forward Herb Jones made an ever-narrowing list for a national honor. Jones was named one of four finalists for Naismith Defensive Player of the Year. The senior from Greensboro, AL has already won SEC Player of the Year and SEC Defensive Player of the Year and leads the nation's No. 2 ranked defense according to Kenpomeroy.

For the first time since 2018, Alabama is advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after defeating the Iona Gaels 68-55.

Alabama's Herb Jones and the SEC's Player of the Year was named to the AP All-American Third Team. The senior adds another achievement to his historic season that has gained recognition by the entire nation entering the NCAA Tournament.

Following their 80-79 SEC Championship victory over the LSU Tigers (18-9), the No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide (24-6) were awarded a two-seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. Sitting near the top of the “East” bracket, the only team seeded higher than ‘Bama is one-seeded Michigan (20-4).

The top seeded Alabama Crimson Tide has struggled this season starting quickly in early tip-offs this season. That was not the case today as the Tide boat-raced the Mississippi State Bulldogs 85-48 in the opening game of today's SEC quarterfinals.

Seniors Herbert Jones and John Petty make All-SEC 1st Team. Sophomore Jaden Shackelford makes All-SEC 2nd Team, while Joshua Primo makes the all-freshman team. This makes the 5th straight Alabama Freshman to make that team.
