Five Alabama football players entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, according to On3 Sports. This comes after the Tide lost 33-18 to Georgia in the National Championship Monday night.

QB Paul Tyson, LB Drew Sanders, OL Tommy Brown, TE Jahleel Billingsley, and LB King Mwikuta have all entered their names into the transfer portal as of early Tuesday evening.

Tyson, the great-grandson of former UA head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, signed with the Tide in December 2018, but did not see any play time until this season. In 2021, he went 10-of-16, for 150 yards. Most of his field time consisted of being the holder for field goal and extra point attempts.

Sanders, the sophomore out of Denton, Tex., made a name for himself after the first game of the season, recording 6 tackles vs Florida. Unfortunately, due to injury, the sophomore missed most of the games in October, but still had significant games against Florida, Ole Miss, New Mexico State and Georgia in the SEC Championship.

Brown, the redshirt junior, played in 10 games this season, with one start vs New Mexico State. He played 75 snaps in total this season, and spent some time on special teams during his career at UA. According to rolltide.com, he "played 44 snaps with one knockdown block, allowed one sack, opened holes for 247 rushing yards" in his one start vs NMST.

Billingsley, the 6'4, 230-pound TE, has been an asset on this offense since last season. In 2020, he caught 18 receptions for 287 yards, and 3 TD's. In 2021, he had 17 receptions for 256 yards, and 3 TD's; however, dealt with numerous injuries throughout the season, including an undisclosed injury this preseason and an arm injury vs Tennessee although he returned to that game. During his tenure with the Tide, Billingsley also saw a few kickoff returns- 7 attempts for 106 yards.

Mwikuta, a junior from West Point, Ga., saw most his field time on the special teams side this season, only recording one tackle at linebacker against Mercer, but he did catch a blocked punt attempt in the 41-38 loss vs Texas A&M, which resulted in a touchdown. He only recorded 6 total tackles in his three seasons at Alabama.
