Greg Byrne Presents Kalen DeBoer with Game Ball
The Crimson Tide are on a bye week, but Kalen DeBoer still received an honor from Athletic Director Greg Byrne.
On Tuesday, Byrne posted a photo from Kalen DeBoer's snazzy new office in the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility, presenting the Crimson Tide's head football coach with a game ball from his first victory as the head coach of Alabama.
Byrne said, "Told him that I look forward to presenting him his football for his 100th win as head coach for Alabama Football down the road. #RollTide
In the first game of the Kalen DeBoer era, Alabama defeated the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 63-0 in Bryant-Denny Stadium. DeBoer is currently 3-0 as the head coach of Alabama.
DeBoer's undefeated record will be put to the test on September 28. It will be the most anticipated game in Tuscaloosa since LSU came to town in 2019. The Georgia Bulldogs, currently ranked as the No. 2 team in the country, will visit for the first game without Nick Saban since Georgia and Alabama played in 2003.
Alabama holds a 43-26-4 all-time record against Georgia. The latest win for Alabama came in the 2023 SEC Championship game when Jalen Milroe led the Crimson Tide to a 27-24 win to secure the school's 29th SEC Championship win.
The last win for Georgia came in the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship when Stetson Bennett IV led Georgia to a 33-18 win over an injured Alabama team.
